Appointments

This team serve the SFA Edinburgh and District Referees Association, helping to appoint referees per requests received.

LOOKING FOR A REFEREE?
Please use this contact form.
PLEASE – If you are also seeking Referees via other means, let us know.
VERY IMPORTANT – If you otherwise secure a Referee before we confirm our Appointment, please inform us immediately.

Referees – if you have received a request, please refer the requester to the above link to our contact form. We prefer to have requests directly, rather than via referees, so that we have a responsible point of contact.

Competition rules

For most Girls’ (Regional, also known as SE Region, & Youth Performance League) matches, rules, fees etc. are detailed in:
Here for League & League Cup
Here for Youth Challenge Cup
The teamlines detail where the paperwork should be sent and the timescales. There is no requirement to record anything online or otherwise report scores etc..

For the new Girls NextGen Performance League (Also known as Talent Development Environment league or TDE) they are detailed here:
Cat1 U18s, U16s, U14s – Hearts, Hibs & Spartans
Cat2 U18s, U16s, U14s – Livingston & B’muir
League Cup
NGPL games are processed on the SFA Extranet*. If you can’t locate your fixture under My Matches, change the season (top right) to the current year.

For Women’s and other Girls’ cups, see:
https://scotwomensfootball.com/documents-and-downloads/
(Then scroll down to Rules)
Please note that SWFL games are processed on the SFA Extranet*. If you can’t locate your fixture under My Matches, change the season (top right) to the current year.

* For any games that are processed on the SFA Extranet (also known as Scottish FA Live), you should receive an appointment confirmation email and the match will then appear on the Extranet. This email can be late on in the week. Teamlines are scanned by you and uploaded there after the game. There is no need to then post or email the teamlines, but you should retain them for at least a month. Please remember that ALL matches that are administered via the Extranet must be completed within 24 hours of the match finishing – so that the misconduct and suspension list can be updated. If extra time is required, or you know that the admin will be completed late, please inform Refadminmanager@scottishfa.co.uk and copy in disciplinary@scottishfa.co.uk . If you need advice about match processing on the Extranet, please contact EDRA Appointments quickly. However, if you are having technical issues with the Extranet, you should contact Appointments@scottishfa.co.uk.

For Club Academy (CAS) games, please refer to SFA Extranet, Services, Library, Club Academy Scotland, then both the CAS Regulations and Guidance Notes documents thereunder. These cover fees, duration, etc..

For small sided games (7 aside or 9 aside), both boys and girls, search in your App Store (Apple devices) or Play Store (Android) for ‘Scottish FA’ and install their Grassroots app. Under ‘I’m a Coach’ you’ll find links to either SYFA (Boys) or SWF (Girls) rules. Alternatively, download via this link. Please note that the app may be incorrect regarding freekicks which are all indirect.

For any other games, particularly non friendlies, referees should ensure they are suitably aware of applicable rules.

Should you have to call off from an appointment at short notice – prior to 6pm Friday for weekend games, email EDRA Appointments. For other weekend games, if after that, do not email us, but call Paul or Ken (numbers on the SFA Extranet). For midweek games, if at least 24hours pre KO, email in, otherwise call Paul or Ken. In all cases, it is courtesy to also advise your home team.

If you need to contact the Appointments team urgently, please CALL (not email or message) either Paul Hanlon or Ken Boyd (numbers on the Extranet).

PLEASE do not give teams cause to provide negative feedback by failing to prepare!
